Sono Belle Jeju — A Condo-Style Resort That Works Well for Families
This large resort sits right in front of Hamdeok Beach. Its white, Mediterranean-style buildings with orange roofs are easy to spot from a distance. Of all the Hamdeok hotels, this is the only one that actually feels like a resort. The rooms are condo-style, so you can cook your own meals, and there are larger rooms that sleep up to eight — ideal for family or multi-generation trips. One thing to know: the property is split across several buildings, and the newer wing and older wing aren't quite the same in condition, so it's worth checking which building you're booking before you confirm. Parking is generous, with both above-ground and underground lots inside the resort, though it can get crowded during check-in/check-out hours or peak season.
Ebenezer Hotel — 1–2 Minutes to the Beach, Budget-Friendly Ocean View
This is the closest hotel to Hamdeok Beach's entrance. The beach is 1–2 minutes on foot, and there's a GS25 convenience store (one of Korea's major 24-hour chains) right on the ground floor, which is handy for a late-night snack run. Starbucks and Olive Young are both a short walk away too, which adds to how convenient the location feels overall. It's also on the closer side to Seoubong among the beachfront hotels, so it's an easy walk up there for a morning stroll. This one has a clear view over Hamdeok Beach. It sits right across from the water, so the beach is right there the moment you step outside, not just from your room. Rooms look straight out over Hamdeok's water, and breakfast is included, which makes for an easy start to the day. It's not a huge spread, but having a choice between Korean and Western-style breakfast is a nice touch. Parking is above ground, using space in front of and beside the building rather than underground — given how central Hamdeok is, this can get a bit tight during peak season or on weekends. The facilities are a bit dated, but a lot of reviews mention that it still feels worth the price.

Reviews consistently mention good value for the price, and it works well if you're renting a car and want a calm place to come back to after a day out. Parking is right on the first floor.
Why Hamdeok Makes Such a Convenient Base
How much you enjoy your stay in Hamdeok really comes down to which hotel you pick. But the appeal of Hamdeok isn't just the water — its location is genuinely convenient in a way that's easy to overlook. Most of eastern Jeju's attractions cluster within easy reach of Hamdeok, so you can cover the eastern part of the island efficiently over a day or two without changing hotels.

Being about 30 minutes from the airport takes the pressure off even if you land late on your first day, and places like Gimnyeong or Manjanggul Cave make for an easy half-day trip. Saryeoni Forest Trail — a beautiful cedar and cypress forest walk — is also just 30 minutes away, so it's simple to fit in a forest walk, and even a slightly farther spot like Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) is only about 40 minutes out. Getting out west to Hyeopjae or Hallim takes a bit more time, but if your trip is centered on eastern Jeju, it's hard to find a base as efficient as Hamdeok.
