Best Hotels in Aewol, Jeju: Places I Visited and Compared
If you're wondering where to stay in Aewol, you're not alone. From oceanfront hotels to luxury resorts, there are plenty of options. Instead of relying on booking site photos, I spent a day driving along Aewol Coastal Road, stopping at some of the area's most popular hotels to compare their location, atmosphere, and surroundings in person.
This is my honest rundown of the best hotels in Aewol — all of them oceanfront, all of them within walking distance of the coastal road.
Hotels I Visited
Here are the five Aewol ocean view hotels I checked out in person:
- Stanford Hotel & Resort Jeju — my favorite overall, with spacious grounds, hotel rooms, and private pool villas
- Dyne Oceano Hotel — a clean, resort-style hotel with a rooftop infinity pool
- Aewol Stay — a smaller hotel right next to Gueom Port, one of Aewol's quieter photo spots
- Uni Hotel — a budget-friendly option with a café right next door
- Tamna Stay — another affordable pick close to the coastal road
Why I Think Oceanfront Hotels Are the Better Choice
Most of these hotels sit directly on Aewol's coastal road. That means ocean views, easy access to the coastal walking path, cafés within a short stroll, and simple access to the rest of Jeju. Every property I visited also had decent parking and landscaping, which made a good first impression before I'd even checked the rooms.
One thing I noticed was how easy it was to enjoy the sunset without driving anywhere. Several hotels are directly connected to Aewol Coastal Road, so you can simply walk out in the evening and watch the sun go down over the water.
One thing that surprised me was how different the atmosphere felt compared with hotels set farther inland. Being able to step outside and immediately walk along the coast made the whole area feel much more relaxing.
If you're not renting a car, the coastal Route 795 bus runs along Aewol Coastal Road and stops close to each of these hotels. Here's how far each one is from its nearest stop:

※ Route 795 runs about 18 times a day — noticeably less frequent than Jeju's main city buses — so I'd check real-time arrival times on the Kakao Bus or Jeju Bus Information app before heading out.
📍 Dyne Oceano Hotel
Best for: Ocean views and rooftop pool
Right on Aewol coastal road, Dyne Oceano's biggest draw is its rooftop infinity pool with ocean views. It felt polished and well maintained overall. Inside, the lobby leads straight to Andamiro, the hotel's own buffet restaurant, so there's an easy on-site dining option if you don't feel like driving out.
📍 Aewol Stay
Best for: Bus travelers and coastal walks
Aewol Stay isn't a huge property, but its location is hard to beat. Right across from the hotel is Gueom Port ("구엄포구"), a small fishing harbor known for its stone saltern — flat basalt rock where sea salt was once produced by hand. It's a lovely spot for a quiet morning or evening walk.
The Gueom Port bus stop (Route 795) is right in front of the hotel — just a 1-minute walk, which is handy if you're getting around without a rental car.
📍 Uni Hotel
Best for: Budget-conscious travelers
Uni Hotel has ocean views and an open driveway that doesn't feel cramped. There's a café called Noeulri right next door, so you can grab a coffee and enjoy the view right after checking in. It's one of the hotels that frequently appears when people search for affordable oceanfront stays in Aewol.
📍 Tamna Stay
Best for: Affordable stays with ocean views
Tamna Stay's biggest strength is price — it's one of the more affordable options I visited, and it's still an easy walk to the coastal road. What caught me off guard, though, was the lobby — even at a budget-friendly hotel, the view from those windows was genuinely impressive.
Stanford Hotel & Resort — My Favorite
Best for: Couples, anniversaries, resort-style stays
Out of everything I visited, Stanford Hotel & Resort left the biggest impression — and honestly, it's the one I spent the most time photographing. I expected a fairly standard hotel, but it turned out to be a full resort complex, with hotel rooms and private pool villas spread across a spacious property. There's none of the boxed-in feeling you sometimes get with smaller hotels. Out of all five hotels, this was the only one that truly felt like a resort rather than just a hotel.
I got a look inside one of the pool villas, and it was even better than I expected — a private pool right off the living room, a jacuzzi, and a bathroom that felt more like a spa. If you're visiting for a couple's trip or an anniversary, this is worth considering.
