Jeju is actually a much larger island than most people expect, and the vibe of your trip will change completely depending on the region you choose. Right in the center of the island sits Mt. Hallasan—South Korea’s highest peak—which creates distinct regional differences between the East, West, South, and North. 🌴 South (Seogwipo) | Nature & Healing
If you want to experience the true beauty of Jeju's nature, this is the place. It's home to stunning waterfalls, lush forests, and beautiful resorts — perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Best for: Families, couples, travelers looking for peace and quiet, and surfers checking out Jungmun Beach.
🌊 West (Aewol / Hyeopjae) | Emerald Seas & Vibes
The "trendy" heart of Jeju. This area is packed with aesthetic cafés and emerald-colored beaches — a photographer's dream, especially during sunset. It is also the ultimate destination for car camping (Cha-bak) enthusiasts who want to park right by the beach, camp out, and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves under the star.

01Limit Your Base to 2 Locations
Packing and unpacking every single day kills the vibe. If you're staying 3–4 days, pick just two bases to maximize your time.
02Hiking Hallasan? Stay North
If you're planning to hike Hallasan, stay in Jeju City (North) the night before. Both the Seongpanak Trail (east entrance) and the Gwaneumsa Trail (north entrance) are much closer from there — and since entry times start early, cutting your morning commute makes a real difference.
03Check the Tide — Essential!

04Drive Slow & Stay Safe
Jeju enforces the 'Safe Speed 5030' policy (50 km/h in cities, 50–60 km/h on coastal roads). Don't expect to zoom around — add about 20% more time to whatever your GPS predicts!
